Carona (602 m.a.s.l.) is a 1,000-year-old Ticino village, which was built by great artists who lived there. It holds a unique position in a hollow of the San Salvatore mountain, far from traffic and above the lake and the city of Lugano. It has about 600 inhabitants and in summer about as many guests.
