Artists of Carona

 

Aldo Ferrario was born in Carona in 1944. From 1960 to 1963 he attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich and worked with the sculptor Emilio Stanzani in Zurich and Paris. From 1964 to 1968 he attended the Brera Academy in Milan and graduated in sculpture with Luciano Minguzzi. In 1965 he was invited to the "Internationale Sommerakademie" in Salzburg. In 1977-78-79 he was awarded the Federal Fine Arts Scholarship.

In 1985, Aldo Ferrario won the national competition for a large-scale sculpture 'Great Athlete' for the Tenero Sports Centre.

In the following years, he took part in several group and solo exhibitions in various countries.

He died on 15 March 2020 in Lugano after dedicating his entire life to his passion for art.

His works are included in private and public collections in Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Belgium and the United States.
